National Library Lovers’ Month Schedule of Events

All Month Long
Create Your Story: Blank Book Project”
Pickup a blank book at the Village Library and create your own story with words or pictures. Be creative! Drop off your book by 2/28 to have it displayed in the library through March.

Name our new mascot, The Reading Rabbit
Our new mascot, The Reading Rabbit, needs a name! Write your suggestion on a piece of paper and drop it in the designated box at the library. The name will be announced at Story Time on March 1.

1:30pm Meet/2pm Departure Literary Book Tour with Cindy Falk and Will Walker of the Cooperstown Graduate Program
Meet at the Village Library for a stroll around downtown Cooperstown to hear more about local literary figures James Fenimore Cooper and Susan Fenimore Cooper. 
 
February 18, 2023
10am Mindful Meditation Walk
Find your Zen with a mindful meditation walk led by Stephanie Bauer. Stephanie was certified as a mindfulness leader at Kripalu Yoga Center. The walk will begin at the Village Hall porch and wind down towards the path by the river. 
 
FEBRUARY 19-28: “GET COZY” WEEK

February 22, 2023
5:30pm Book Group Talk on “Brooklyn” by Colm Tóibín

7pm Stay for a screening of the movie adaptation of the book “Brooklyn”
Ballroom (2nd floor) at the Village Library, 22 Main St.

LOCAL BUSINESS SUPPORT
We are thrilled to have the support and involvement of so many local businesses throughout the month of February for this campaign.
  • The Landmark Inn will run a special on their literary themed rooms during the month, and will donate a portion of those proceeds for the second year in a row to FoVL to support the Village Library.
  • Stagecoach Coffee will serve a limited-edition Library Lovers’ Latte and Bookworm Hot Chocolate during February
  • Mohican Flowers will have a literary inspired arrangement for sale throughout the month.
